This recipe turned out to be a great cheat day meal hitting home with the crunch of the deep fry, the tender chicken, and the cheesy macaroni filling.

JP turned Julia’s inspiration of Mac & Cheese INSIDE Fried Chicken into an even more glutinous treat by taking it and encapsulating it in more macaroni and cheese, battering it, and deep frying it.

Ingredients
  • 3 Chicken Breasts (Large)
  • 2-4 Cups Flour
  • 3 Eggs
  • Vegetable Oil for Frying
  • White Cheddar Cheese Slices
Macaroni and Cheese (You can use any recipe)
  • ½ Cup Flour
  • ½ Cup Butter
  • 2 Cup Half and Half
  • 2 Cup Milk
  • 8 oz Mild White Cheddar
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese
  • 1 Cup Pecorino Romano
  • Salt to taste

Instructions
  1. Start with making your macaroni and cheese by taking a large pot of water and boiling your pasta until cooked through, then strain.
  2. In the same pot on medium high heat and butter and melt through. Add you flour and whisk for 2 minutes. Whisk in milk and heavy cream. Once hot add your cheeses. Add cooked pasta to the cheese sauce. Set aside.
  3. Prepare your chicken breasts by cutting off the fat. Using a sharp knife cut a whole in the side and carefully slice the inside of the chicken creating a pocket. Pound the chicken to tenderize and to create more surface area, enlarging the pocket.
  4. Using a spoon and manually stuff cheese slices and about 1 cup of Macaroni and cheese into the chicken breast.
  5. Set up your breading station with flour, eggs, and chicken breader. Dunk the chicken into the flour, egg, flour, egg, chicken breader. Handle carefully, making sure the noodles stay inside the chicken.
  6. Deep fry 350°F for 10 minutes and then bake in a 450°F preheated oven until an internal temperature of 265°F.
  7. Serve on a bed of macaroni and cheese.

  • 1 Mac N Cheese Stuffed Fried Chicken Breast
  • 3 Cups Macaroni and Cheese
  • 2 Cups Flour
  • 3 Eggs
  • Vegetable Oil for Frying
Things You'll Need
Instructions
  1. Take your prepared macaroni and cheese stuffed fried chicken and wrap cooled macaroni and cheese around it. Use parchment paper to hold the macaroni and cheese around the chicken. Freeze.
  2. Preheat oven to 450°F.
  3. Deep fry for 10 minutes at 350°F.
  4. Bake for 30 minutes. Deep fry one more time for 3 minutes after baking.
  5. Slice in half and reveal.
