Hot Dog Inside A Burger, JP Vs Julia

JP’s dream has come true because he brought together all of his favorite junk foods into one masterpiece.  This is what he calls the Hot Dog Inside A Burger but really it’s a hot dog, inside a burger, inside chili and cheese, within a tortilla, all wrapped together by a warm baked pretzel.  Yep, JP went there and Julia shows you how to make a simple Hot Dog inside a Burger recipe. You decide which you prefer on the pole on the YouTube video.

Author: HellthyJunkFood
Recipe Type: Entree
Cuisine: American
Serves: 1

Ingredients:

  • Black Label Thick Cut Bacon
  • Tortilla Wraps
  • 1 Pound 80/20 Ground Beef
  • Ball Park Franks
  • Cheddar Cheese
  • Store Bought Pizza Dough
  • Baking Soda
  • 1 Can Hormel Chili No Beans
  • Ketchup
  • Mustard

Beer Cheese:

  • 1 Block Sharp Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 12 oz Brown Ale, Yuengling
  • 5 oz Evaporated Milk
  • 1 Tbsp Mustard
  • 1½ Tbsp Corn Starch
  • 1 Tsp Worcestire
  • 1 Tsp Hot Sauce
  • Salt

Instructions:

Julia's Version:

  1. Grab two hot dogs and cut them in half.
  2. Cut ¼ of a sharp cheddar cheese block into pieces.
  3. Place a piece of parchment paper down and press out two balls of hamburger beef.
  4. On top of one of the burgers put 3½ of hot dog and ½ of your cheeses slices.
  5. Place the 2nd pressed out beef patty on top and seal the sides all around. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Also butterfly your last hot dog half and grill for a topping.
  7. Pour oil into a pan and put the heat to Medium High. Pan sear burger for about 5 minutes. Flip both and then put the lid on to cook all the sides evenly and through. You can also bake it.
  8. After it is cooked top off with your cheese and hot dog. Place on a toasted bun, ladle on a spoonful of chili, ketchup muster and enjoy! America at it's finest.

JP's Version:

  1. Precook 4 pieces of bacon.
  2. Wrap your bacon around a hot dog.
  3. Wrap that in ground beef and grill all sides until fully cooked
  4. Lay 3 tortillas on your bench, ladle on beer cheese and chili and place your bacon wrapped beef dog in the center. Wrap like a burrito and grill closed.
  5. Roll out biscuit dough and wrap around your burrito. Make sure to seal shut.
  6. Bring a pot of water to boil with baking soda. Place your dough wrapped burrito into the water. Flip after 1 minute. Wait one more minute and place on a greased baking sheet and top with salt. Bake at 450°F until golden brown. About an hour.
  7. Let cool. There you have it. 😉
