Recipe Type: Appetizer
Cuisine: American
Serves: 10 Breadsticks

Ingredients:

  • 1-1/3 Cup Warm Water (105°F)
  • ¼ Cup Powdered Milk
  • ½ Tsp Salt
  • 4 Cups Flour
  • 1 Tbsp Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp Dry Yeast
  • 2 Tbsp Vegetable Oil
  • 4 Tbsp Melted Butter
  • Grated Parmesan Cheese

Dipping Sauce Ingredients:

  • 1 Can (15 oz) Tomato Sauce
  • 6 oz Tomato Paste
  • 2 Tbsp Sugar
  • 1 Tsp Dry Oregano
  • ½ Tsp Marjoram
  • ½ Tsp Dry Basil
  • ½ Tsp Garlic Powder
  • ½ Tsp Salt

Toppings:

  • 2 Tbsp Parmesan Cheese
  • 2 Tsp Garlic Powder
  • 2 Tsp Garlic Salt
  • 2 Tsp Onion Powder
  • 2 Tsp Oregano
  • 2 Tsp Basil

THINGS YOU'LL NEED:

Instructions:

  1. Combine the yeast, sugar, salt & dry milk in a bowl. Add 1-1/3 Cups hot water and mix well and then let this sit until the mixture foams up. Roughly 10 minutes.
  2. Add 2 Tbsp Vegetable Oil and slowly add 4 Cups of Flour and mix or kneed depending on your equipment for 4-5 minutes.
  3. You will only "need" ½ of the dough you created. The other half can be used to make a pizza, b/c why not.
  4. Spread about 4 Tbsp of Vegetable Oil onto a 9" x 13" baking pan and let your dough ball rise in this pan, covered for 1-1/2 hours.
  5. Once it's doubled in size, spread the dough out to the corners of the pan and cut the dough into 10 equal breadsticks.
  6. Now Bake at 500°F for 20 minutes and remove from the oven to get our finishing salty glaze on.
  7. Mix the dry toppings into a cheese shaker bottle. If you don't have this, then don't worry... I'm sure you can do this without the shaker bottle.
  8. For the sauce, simply combine the ingredients listed into a small pot and heat.
  9. Once the breadsticks have cooled down a bit, brush the tops with more liquid butter and then sprinkle on the dry topping seasoning blend.
  10. Broil for 2 minutes to get that golden brown color on top and you're done.
  11. Now when you take it out, you can tear the breadsticks apart and they'll be all greasy and shit, just like Pizza Hut!
