So Julia made me watch a Justin Bieber music video to get inspired to make Takis.  Since I’ve never eaten Takis before, I just assme the first step would be to try them.  But life doesn’t always work out the way you want, so I ended up watching Justin Bieber.

  • 9" Yellow Corn Tortilla
  • 3 Limes (juiced)
  • Red Food Gel (for color)
  • Oil for Frying
Dry Mix
  • 1 Tbsp Hot Mexican Chili Powder
  • 1 Tbsp Onion Powder
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 2 tsp Cayenne Pepper

Instructions
  1. Tightly roll up your corn tortilla as tight as possible and secure with a tooth pick
  2. Juice 3 limes and mix the juice with red dye
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the dry ingredients together then transfer to a large ziplock baggy
  4. Fry the rolled up tortilla for 3 minutes at 350°F or until crispy golden brown
  5. Pour on the lime mixture and toss directly into the ziplock baggy full of spices and shake
  6. You don't need to do anything else but eat it now
